Bodies and Interiors
Find your solutions for Automotive industry.
We offer numerous applications for analytical and testing areas.
- Tensile Test for Metallic Materials using Strain Rate Control and Stress Rate Control
International standards for tensile testing of metallic materials have been revised as specified in ISO 6892 and JIS Z2241, such that strain rate control, where strain is measured with an extensometer.
- Seat Belt Test Tensile Test according to manufacturer’s specification
For seat belt manufacturers it´s of great importance to perform continuous quality control on the products they produce to ensure that the final product is according to specification and will withstand the forces, which occurs during an accident and again saving a life.
With AG-X Plus units we can perform High-End Measurements solutions in one machine, from Tensile to Compression and all other kind of requirements for the Automotive.
- Confirmation of Raw Material Quality
The EDX-7000/8000 Series is the ideal instrument for those interested getting the elemental composition of their sample. The technique itself is non-destructive and allows measurements of solid as well as liquid samples. Within seconds customers can determine the filling material of plastic components or measure layer thicknesses of metal plating (bodies and interiors). Even the concentration of elements causing shading of the car windows are definable.
- VDA 277 - Analysis of Volale Contaminants from Polymers
Modern vehicle interiors contain a multitude of different polymers. The car manufacturers’ constant strive for an increase in product quality leads to the implementation of softer polymers, e.g. in the dash panel. Such softer materials offer an increased grip feeling and overall quality impression to the customer.
To avoid potential health risks for customers, car manufacturers implement various quality control procedures for estimating the contaminant emissions of individual materials.
- VDA 278 - In recent years, measures to reduce the use of organic compounds in automotive interiors have progressed.
In Germany, the VDA278 standards were created for the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and semivolatile organic compounds (SVOC) produced from automotive interior materials. In the VDA278, measurement samples are added to a TD glass tube. The VOC (up to C20) and SVOC (up to C32) are heated at different temperatures, and the gases produced are loaded into a GC-MS. The VOC and SVOC from the automotive interior materials can be analyzed conveniently and quickly. However, since the gas is loaded directly, if the SVOC content is highly concentrated, caution is needed regarding carryover.
- Testing of Steel Plating for Bodies with AG-X and AGS-X Series Universal Testing Machines
Steel plating for bodies is required to have increasingly higher tensile strength these days so that automobile frames can be made lighter. This system for tensile testing of high tensile strength steel plates lightens the load placed on measuring personnel since the specimen and extensometer can be set up by operating buttons.
- HPV-X2, Tensile Testing and DIC analysis
A combination of tensile testing machine and HPV-X2 high-speed video camera enables the measurement of distortion and test force under high-speed loads. The HPV-X2 can record the breaking of specimens at a high image capture speed of 10 million frames per second (fps), and the breaking of specimens can be expressed in sync with S-S curves by performing image analysis.
- Prominence Series High-Performance Liquid Chromatographs Aldehyde Analysis Systems
These systems analyze aldehydes such as formaldehyde that are generated from seat and other interior materials. Aldehydes are analyzed after 2,3-DNPH derivatization.
