EU-POPs Regulations
Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are organic substances that persist in the environment, accumulate in living organisms. POPs are regulated globally under the Stockholm Convention and the Aarhus Protocol. In the EU, these international treaties are enforced through the POPs Regulation (EU) 2019/1021.
Dechlorane Plus, UV-328 and methoxychlor
The Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention adopted amendments to Annex A to list Methoxychlor, Dechlorane Plus and UV-328 in the annex at the eleventh meeting from 1 to 12 May 2023.
The Annex of EU-POPs was also amended/ is going to be amended by the following Delegated Regulations:
- Methoxychlor: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/2570 of 22 July2024
- Dechlorane Plus: Commission Adoption
- Persistent organic pollutant - dechlorane plus
- UV-328: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/843 of 5 May 2025

All our Shimadzu products which Shimadzu Europa distributes in the EU are compliant to EU POPs Regulation with these amendments.
