From Farm to Lab: Uncovering 692 Different Pesticide Residues in Cucumbers

The Shimadzu team recently conducted a method validation study for detecting pesticide residues in cucumbers. Using advanced analytical techniques, residues were identified as follows:

513 pesticide residues analyzed with LCMS-8060NX.
308 pesticide residues analyzed with GCMS-TQ8040NX.

To extract pesticides from the cucumber matrix, the QuEChERS extraction technique was combined with dSPE clean-up, ensuring precise and reliable results.

Shimadzu continues to empower laboratories in meeting food safety standards through innovative solutions.

Rice, Arsenic & Precision: Shimadzu’s LC-ICPMS-2050 in Action

Check out this poster presented by our colleagues from Shimadzu MEA at ASMS 2025. This study presents the effective use of Shimadzu’s LC-ICPMS-2050 LF system for arsenic speciation in rice and related products. Leveraging the LC-ICP-MS Method Package for Arsenic Speciation Analysis Type-2, users benefit from pre-optimized instrumental parameters - significantly reducing the time and effort required for method development.

Simultaneous Quantitation of 32 PFAS in Baby Food by LC-MS/MS

This application note presents a simple and rapid method for quantifying 32 PFAS compounds in baby food using QuEChERS extraction with dSPE cleanup, followed by LC-MS/MS analysis. The shorter run time supports high-throughput testing, making it ideal for routine screening in food safety labs.
